Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled steel fixers to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of structural steel and iron components in various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices and the ability to work safely at heights. The Ironworker will collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

Install and connect steel beams, columns, and girders in accordance with specifications. Perform heavy lifting and rigging of materials using appropriate equipment. Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and weld metal components. Collaborate with carpenters and other trades to ensure structural integrity. Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety protocols. Assist in the training of apprentices or less experienced workers as needed.

Skills

Proficient in masonry techniques and roof installations. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Experience with commercial driving for transporting materials when necessary. Familiarity with welding processes and techniques. Ability to operate various hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Capability for heavy lifting, ensuring physical fitness for demanding tasks. Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively on-site.
