Overview

We are seeking a skilled Slab Layer to join our team, responsible for the installation and finishing of concrete slabs in various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and be proficient in the use of hand and power tools. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

Prepare and set up work areas for slab installation, ensuring all materials are available and ready for use. Lay concrete slabs according to specifications, ensuring proper alignment and levelness. Use hand tools and power tools effectively to shape, cut, and finish concrete surfaces. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including bricklayers, carpenters, and roofers, to ensure seamless integration of work. Perform quality checks on completed slabs to ensure they meet industry standards. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations. Assist with other masonry tasks as required, including bricklaying and welding when necessary.

Requirements

Proven experience in slab laying or related fields such as masonry or carpentry. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to construction tasks. Knowledge of bricklaying techniques is advantageous. Familiarity with roofing practices is a plus. Basic welding skills would be beneficial but not essential. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
