Role Overview
The Groundworker's Assistant supports experienced groundworkers in all aspects of excavation, drainage installation, reinstatement and general site operations. The role involves manual labour, assisting with tools and materials, and ensuring safe, efficient working practices on site.
Key Responsibilities
Assist groundworkers with excavation, trenching, and backfilling. Support installation of drainage systems, soakaways, treatment plants, pipework, and ducting. Handle and move materials, including aggregates, pipe sections, chambers, and equipment. Operate basic hand tools and small plant under supervision. Set up and maintain a clean, safe working area. Help with site preparation, including fencing, signage, and protection of work zones. Follow all health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements. Assist with loading/unloading vehicles and organising tools. Carry out general labouring duties as required.
Skills & Requirements
CSCS card preferred Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions. Basic knowledge of groundwork or construction beneficial but not essential. Ability to work as part of a team with a positive, proactive attitude. Full UK driving licence
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 25,000.00-33,000.00 per year
