Overview

Ruda Holiday Park are seeking a dedicated Grounds Assistant to support our Maintenance and Grounds team across our large beach side holiday park The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in horticulture and gardening, with a strong willingness to learn and develop their skills. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of outdoor maintenance, including the use of power tools and machinery. Applicants should be organised, reliable, and eager to contribute to creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.

Full and part time positions are available, shifts vary between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, with cover required 7 days per week.

This is a fixed term, seasonal role, starting from January/February until mid-November with a possibility of further extensions over the winter period.

Responsibilities

Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, pruning, planting, and general gardening duties Rubbish collections, including moving large bins, dog waste bins, litter picking etc. Operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery Support construction activities related to outdoor projects, ensuring safety and efficiency Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure optimal functionality Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas to promote safety standards Collaborate with team members to complete projects within deadlines while adhering to health and safety regulations
Requirements

A full driving licence will be required for the role Basic knowledge of landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is crucial Experience with hand tools and power tools such as strimmers and hedge trimmers, although training can be provided. Experience of ride on mowers would be advantageous Mechanical knowledge or understanding of equipment maintenance is a plus Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately Physical fitness suitable for outdoor work in varying weather conditions Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced outdoor environment

Pay: 12.73 per hour
