We are seeking an experienced Grounds & Estates Manager to lead the operational management, maintenance and development of our external estate. This includes grounds, landscaped areas, land, agricultural and external buildings, estate roads, paths and open spaces.


The role has end-to-end responsibility for ensuring the estate is safe, compliant, well-presented and sustainable, supporting environmental, health & safety and audit requirements, including ISO 14001.



Lead day-to-day estates and grounds operations across the external estate Plan and deliver seasonal maintenance programmes Manage estates contractors and oversee performance and standards Ensure estate presentation meets organisational standards Own operational estates budgets, cost control and forecasting Identify, assess and escalate risks relating to land, trees, access, structures and unplanned works Act as the primary point of contact for external estate matters Oversee agricultural and external buildings, ensuring safe access, inspections and maintenance Support environmental management, sustainability and biodiversity initiatives Manage green waste, recycling and disposal in line with ISO 14001 Lead operational health & safety across estates activities, including RAMS and incident investigations Support planning and delivery of estate events and logistics Line manage estates and grounds staff, including performance, training and development Drive continuous improvement and long-term estate planning

Skills



Proven experience in estates, grounds or land management Strong knowledge of contractor management and seasonal maintenance planning Experience managing budgets and procurement of estates services Good understanding of health & safety and environmental management (ISO 14001) Ability to identify and manage operational risks Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
