As our new Grounds Maintenance Chargehand you will work as part of a team to improve the neighbourhoods that we work in. You'll maintain the land owned by Merthyr Valley Homes, which includes the care of open spaces, communal areas, trees, shrub beds, hedges, car parking areas and garage sites. Supporting the service aims to provide a pleasant environment for the residents of Merthyr Valley Homes, communities and visitors to enjoy.
Is this for you?
As a Grounds Maintenance Chargehand, you will need to have hands-on experience in carrying out a variety of grounds maintenance tasks to a high standard. You will be responsible for directing and supporting operational staff on-site, so strong leadership and coordination skills are essential. You'll need to be confident working as part of a team, contributing to a positive and productive working environment. Proficiency in using a range of portable tools and equipment--such as mowers, hedge cutters, and chainsaws--is required, along with the ability to carry out routine plant and vehicle inspections. You should also be capable of performing basic repairs and maintenance on machinery to ensure all equipment remains safe and operational.
