Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces. This role involves various tasks related to landscape maintenance, including digging, building, and irrigating garden areas. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that all grounds are kept in excellent condition, contributing to the overall aesthetic and functionality of the environment.

Responsibilities

Perform general groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, and weeding. Operate and maintain power tools and hand tools effectively. Dig and prepare soil for planting, ensuring proper irrigation methods are applied. Build and maintain garden structures such as beds, fences, and pathways. Conduct regular inspections of the grounds to identify maintenance needs. Assist in landscape maintenance projects, including planting flowers, shrubs, and trees. Ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use. Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and safely.

Requirements

Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various tools and equipment. Familiarity with irrigation systems and techniques for effective water management. Ability to dig, build, and maintain garden areas with attention to detail. Competence in using power tools safely and effectively. Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual labour outdoors in varying weather conditions. A proactive attitude towards work with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
