Role Overview
The successful candidate will work as part of the Grounds Maintenance team based in Belfast but will cover a number of locations throughout Northern Ireland. They will be responsible for undertaking various planned maintenance and reactive tasks and providing excellent services to our high-profile customers.
What you'll do
The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:
To complete grounds maintenance operations as per client requirements including grass cutting, weed spraying, litter picking, shrub pruning, hedge cutting, tree pruning, power washing & graffiti removal.
To operate grounds maintenance equipment including ride on & pedestrian mowers, road sweeper, strimmers, hedge trimmers, back pack blowers, leaf collection equipment, chain saws, power washers, concrete saws, CDA & backpack sprayers
Undertake hard landscape works including brick paving, flagging, fence repairs & erection
Undertake the operation of mobile elevated platforms as & when required
Carry out fertiliser / top dressing, spiking and aeration operations to grass areas.
Complete basic training in pest control and assist the pest control team when required
To liaise effectively with other staff across the entire organisation,
Participate in out of hours on call rota
Any other duties within the skill set of the individual.
What you'll bring
As a Grounds Maintenance Operative your main skills and experience will include:
Essential Criteria
Significant relevant experience of working in a grounds maintenance role
Previous experience of using hedge trimmers, walk behind lawnmowers, petrol strimmers, backpack blowers & other grounds maintenance equipment.
Possess a working knowledge of health and safety in relation to the safe use of pesticides and mechanical equipment
Be able to work on own initiative and without supervision
Possess excellent communication skills
Be flexible and motivated
Full, clean driving licence
Desirable Criteria
Possess previous experience working on high profile public sector sites
