Job Summary

The Grounds Maintenance Worker plays a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic and functional aspects of outdoor spaces. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring that gardens, landscapes, and grounds are kept in pristine condition. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for outdoor maintenance.

Duties

Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns. Irrigate gardens and landscaped areas to ensure proper hydration of plants. Build and maintain garden beds, pathways, and other outdoor structures as needed. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for various maintenance tasks. Dig holes for planting trees, shrubs, and flowers while ensuring minimal disruption to existing landscapes. Conduct regular inspections of grounds to identify areas needing attention or repair. Maintain equipment used in groundskeeping to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with team members to execute landscaping projects efficiently.

Qualifications

Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is preferred but not essential. Familiarity with hand tools and power tools commonly used in gardening and landscaping. Basic mechanical knowledge to assist with the upkeep of maintenance equipment. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude. Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy loads as required. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
