Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role involves maintaining the aesthetic and functional aspects of outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, clean, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in landscape maintenance and have experience with various tools and equipment used in groundskeeping.

Duties

Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns. Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as excavators for various maintenance tasks. Assist with the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage. Conduct regular inspections of grounds to identify areas needing repair or enhancement. Carry out gardening activities including planting, pruning, and weeding to promote healthy plant growth. Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas by removing debris and litter. Collaborate with team members on construction projects related to landscaping enhancements. Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain equipment used in grounds maintenance.

Requirements

Proven experience in landscape maintenance or horticulture is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various power tools and equipment safely. Familiarity with gardening techniques and principles of horticulture. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship. Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks including lifting and moving materials as required. A valid driver's licence may be required for operating company vehicles or transporting equipment.
