Grounds Maintenance Operative

Location:

Shell Bacton, Paston Road, Bacton, Norwich NR12 0JE

Salary:

13.00 per hour

Hours:

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Your Role:

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will carry out a range of horticultural and grounds care duties across designated outdoor areas. Working to agreed specifications and standards, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and attractive environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Grass cutting and fine turf maintenance Hedge trimming, shrub and tree pruning Planting bedding and seasonal displays Weed and litter removal Digging, mulching, and watering of plant areas and containers Collection and disposal of green waste Gritting and snow clearance duties (including participation in the on-call rota) Adhering to safe working practices and procedures at all times Operating grounds maintenance equipment safely and correctly Following all relevant permits, safe systems of work, and risk assessments Promptly reporting hazards, near misses, and incidents Supporting any additional tasks as requested by the Grounds Team Lead or General Services Manager

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience in grounds maintenance and use of machinery Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team A strong awareness of health and safety practices Willingness to attend training and respond to reasonable management requests
