Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and functionality of outdoor spaces, ensuring that gardens, landscapes, and grounds are kept in excellent condition. This role requires a combination of physical stamina, mechanical knowledge, and a passion for landscaping.

Responsibilities

Perform general grounds keeping tasks including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns. Dig and prepare soil for planting flowers, shrubs, and trees. Maintain garden beds by weeding, mulching, and irrigating as necessary. Operate and maintain various hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Assist in building landscape features such as pathways, fences, or raised beds. Ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use. Monitor the health of plants and landscapes, reporting any issues to management. Collaborate with team members to complete larger landscaping projects efficiently.

Qualifications

Proven experience in grounds keeping or landscape maintenance is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge related to the operation of gardening equipment and tools. Ability to use hand tools effectively for various gardening tasks. Familiarity with irrigation systems and their maintenance is advantageous. Physical fitness to perform manual labour including lifting heavy loads and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. A keen eye for detail to ensure high standards of work are maintained across all tasks. Good communication skills to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Pay: 27,000.00 per year
