As one of our Grounds Maintenance Supervisors, you'll lead a team of operatives to keep our neighbourhoods looking their best. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer and community services, supervising teams, and ensuring high-quality standards across geographically dispersed sites.
What you'll be doing
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to maintain clean, green, and safe environments by delivering excellent grounds maintenance services for customers and communities.
Lead the day-to-day supervision of teams, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, safely, and to high standards, including monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
Oversee horticultural and grounds maintenance activities including grass cutting, edging, hedge trimming, pruning, planting, reseeding, weeding, spraying, litter removal, fly-tipping clearance, and site preparation.
Safely operate a range of hand and power tools and equipment, carrying out daily checks, reporting defects, and ensuring timely repairs or maintenance.
Take responsibility for on-site supervision of teams, vehicles, tools, equipment, chemicals/pesticides, and materials, including:
+ Delivering Toolbox Talks, face-to-face training, and facilitating e-learning
+ Providing clear instruction and guidance
+ Ensuring operatives have the correct tools, equipment, and knowledge to complete their roles safely and effectively Monitor work quality and timeliness, ensuring health and safety procedures and risk assessments are followed, accurate records are maintained, and any accidents, hazards, or incidents are reported promptly.
Deliver high-quality services in line with the Service Delivery Framework.
What you'll need
Essential
Full driving License and willingness to travel (vehicle, fuel card & uniform provided).
A minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar role in a social, commercial or private sector company.
Must have experience and a clear understanding of customer service and in particular delivering a Grounds Maintenance cyclical service.
Experience of working in a supervisory or management role.
Desirable
IOSH / NEBOSH qualification
LANTRA or equivalent machinery training
Horticultural qualification
Trained PA1 & PA6A certification
