Grounds/Garden maintenance team leader/operative 29,500-33,000 per annum dependent on experience +bonus

With a large commercial and domestic customer portfolio, we are looking for a team leader in our grounds maintenance department.

You must be highly motivated, qualified and skilled in all maintenance operations including the operation of power tools, ride on mowers etc You should have good plant identification and care knowledge. Applicants must be neat, tidy and able to achieve excellent results under tight time restraints and must communicate to customers with a friendly and enthusiastic approach. Attention to detail and quality is essential.

Work to include carrying out:

General amenity grass/lawn cutting and maintenance Hedge trimming and pruning of shrubs for visual impact using best horticultural practices Dead heading perennials at appropriate times of year Hand weeding/hoing of beds Weed spraying/moss control General site cleansing, collection of litter, sweeping and blowing of surfaces Winter gritting/snow clearance from paths and access roads Maintenance and cleaning of tools and vehicles Plannning and prioritisation of daily site works, ensuring the teams work is of the highest professional standard.
Applicants must hold minimum:

Full clean uk driving licence PA1/PA6 pesticides certification Horticultural level 1/2 qualification
Other certification is beneficial although experience is key!

Working Week: Work comprises of a 5 day week to include some Saturdays- 7.45- 4.30pm

During the winter months you will be required to work nights/weekends on rotor to carry out winter gritting/snow clearance for our commercial clients- This is paid additionally at double the hourly rate

An additional bi annual discretionary bonus is paid on good performance c 1-1500 per annum.
