Commercial Grounds Maintenance Operative (Fast-Track to Management)

Due to continued growth, we are entering

2026 with a full commercial maintenance round in place

, and we are now looking for a

highly experienced Commercial Grounds Maintenance Operative

to take full ownership of this round.

This is

not

a standard operative role.
This is a

for someone who wants responsibility, autonomy, and fast progression into management.

The Role

You will be

solely responsible

for managing and maintaining a portfolio of commercial sites on a

repeat-work and one-off basis

.

This includes:

End-to-end responsibility for site standards, presentation, and progression Delivering professional, compliant commercial grounds maintenance Managing an assistant working alongside you Being the main point of contact for: Property management agents Heads of estates Site managers and stakeholders
You will have

full autonomy

over your round, with the support of a well-structured operations team, systems, and technology.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality commercial grounds maintenance across multiple sites Plan, manage, and execute maintenance schedules Carry out professional horticultural and grounds maintenance tasks to a commercial standard Manage and supervise an assistant operative Maintain excellent client relationships and communication Identify opportunities for site improvement and development Ensure compliance with all health & safety and environmental standards Use company systems and reporting tools to manage works effectively

Essential Requirements

To be considered, you

must

have:

Proven experience in

commercial grounds maintenance

Strong horticultural and practical knowledge (you must know what you're doing)

Enhanced DBS

(or willingness to obtain immediately)

PA1 & PA6 spraying licenses

(essential) Experience working on sites where

children or vulnerable people may be present

Ability to work independently and take full responsibility for sites Strong communication skills when dealing with others
