An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and hardworking individual to join Business Leader Irene Mccluskey and her collaborative team at Holytown Crematorium, as a Groundsperson. As a Groundsperson, you will be carrying out a full range of gardening & horticultural tasks, including building new gardens and maintaining a high-quality environment.

This is a full time permanent position working Monday - Friday 08:30am - 16:00pm, with an annual salary of \xc2\xa322,124.00

Alongside a highly collaborative, dedicated and supportive management team, we will give you the room to stretch and develop within the industry. With both training and learning opportunities, our dedicated Learning and Development team and management team will ensure that you are delivered full training to confidently perform this role and will also aim to promote your progression.

What Will I Be Doing As A Groundsperson?

  • Take care of the grounds, keeping them maintained and presentable
  • Construct, place, fix memorials and subsequently maintain to the highest standard
  • Make sure graves are dug appropriately for the deceased and maintain graves as needed for the friends and family of the deceased
  • Clear the grounds, paths and roadways of litter
  • Assist with chapel and cremator duties when needed,
What Do I Need
  • Horticultural experience is an advantage but not required \xe2\x80\x93 the key is a willingness to learn, develop your skills and undertake training courses
  • Experience in operating mechanical gardening equipment is advantageous, although training can be provided for this
  • Is comfortable with manual handling tasks
  • Excellent attention to detail is essential
  • Good communication skills
  • Hard-working and willing to apply yourself
  • Comfortable working in a team or carrying out tasks by yourself
  • A Full UK Driving Licence.
Advantageous:
  • Previous experience in the industry, though this is not required, as full training will be provided.
