Groundworker / Drainage Operative

to join our experienced team.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on role that involves a mix of groundwork duties and drainage support. You'll assist with a wide variety of drainage tasks including but not limited to:

Gully pot replacements

Drain and pipe repairs or replacements

Septic tank installations

Drain lining and patching

Supporting jetting and CCTV teams as needed

Where required, you'll also be expected to assist colleagues with drain jetting and other tasks as required. The role may involve being a second man on HGV units or operating a van-pack jetting unit to attend emergency or planned works.

Every day will differ in location and task, so adaptability, initiative, and a practical mindset are essential. Groundwork experience is compulsory.

Key Responsibilities:

Safe excavation and reinstatement work for drainage repairs Support jetting and CCTV drainage operations Carry out installations of drainage systems, gully pots, and septic tanks Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment (training provided if necessary) Respond to emergency call-outs and out-of-hours works as required Liaise with the office and other team members to report on job progress and findings Keep accurate records and complete job documentation

What We're Looking For:

Experience in groundwork or a similar construction environment Willingness to undertake manual work in varying site conditions Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Flexible and responsive to emergency jobs and changing work priorities Health & Safety awareness and commitment to safe working practices Full UK driving licence (essential) CSCS Card (blue preferred) CPCS or NPORS preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 29,000.00-32,000.00 per year
