Key Responsibilities:
Ensure grounds are maintained to the standards and frequency specified by
Whitbarrow
in the contract. Duties include, but are not limited to:
+ Grass cutting and edge trimming
+ Pruning bushes, shrubs, and hedges (seasonal unless required for Health & Safety)
+ Pruning trees to industry standards, including removal of low obstructing branches up to 2.2m above ground level
+ Clearing fences, walls, and gates of weeds, moss, algae, and other inappropriate plant growth
+ Clearing roads, paths, terraces, car parks, and other hard standing of weeds, moss, algae, debris, and leaves
+ Ensuring boundaries, roadways, parking areas, and pathway markings (including signage) remain visible and free from overhanging vegetation Take proactive responsibility for meeting all Health & Safety requirements while undertaking duties
Comply with all relevant legislation (including Local Authority requirements) relating to waste, pesticides, and COSHH
Take responsibility for, and maintain in good working order, all company equipment, including vehicles
Ensure that clients and guests are dealt with promptly and courteously, in line with company standards
Support the delivery of Health & Safety policy and standards
Complete all allocated Grounds Maintenance tasks listed on the Work Schedule for designated areas
Person Specification:
Full UK driving licence (preferably including trailer towing category)
Willingness to travel between sites daily
Ability to perform the role to the required standard following training
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with clients, colleagues, and supervisors effectively
Ability to plan and prioritise own work schedule in line with business needs and environmental conditions
Must be capable of lone working for the majority of the time
Awareness of Grounds Maintenance specifications and general industry practices
Experience of working within a team to deliver set targets
