Ipswich Town Football Club is looking for a Groundsperson to join our growing grounds team. You will be based at the Training Ground , as well as supporting the team based at the Stadium. The role is a varied one, focusing on all aspects of turf care and the seasonal cycle. Your key responsibilities will be as follows:

Working as part of the grounds team to maintain football pitches at the Training Ground for both the academy and the professional team squads to a high level. After training, using machinery including tractors and mowers safely and responsibly. Operate the irrigation system. Fertilise pitches. Report machinery/system faults to the Grounds Manager or the Mechanic. Mowing and marking out pitches to a good standard. Divotting, strimming the peripherals, and some gardening work along with renovating and growing pitches back in during the spring/summer period.

Who are you?

Ideally, you will have experience in the sports turf industry. You will have a Level 2 qualification in Turf Management and ideally, p.a1, p.a2 and p.a6 spraying qualifications. It is essential that you can work flexibly, with the ability to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Be able to multitask and assist other colleagues when needed. You will be comfortable in a busy, fast paced environment. You will have excellent communication skills and be confident communicating. You will have a strong willingness to learn a range of new skills and build on existing abilities. You will be organised, able to meet deadlines and keep calm under pressure. You will be outgoing, enthusiastic and passionate about your work. You want to work in one of the most exciting organisations in Suffolk!
