Job Description
We are seeking an experienced groundwork professional with a proven track record of at least 2 years on housing plot developments, specifically involving
deep drainage works, internal and external drainage, and road construction
. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to safety, quality, and productivity.Key Responsibilities
Deliver dailyrisk assessment briefings and toolbox talks
, ensuring safety standards are upheld. Supervise and support operatives, ensuring work is carried out efficiently, safely, and to specification. Plan and coordinate site resources, includingplant, equipment, and materials
, to meet programme targets. Ensure safe excavation practices when working aroundburied services
. Engage confidently with operatives todrive Quality, Health & Safety, and production standards
. Interpret site programmes and translate them into practical work plans to meet deadlines. Oversee and managesub-contractors
to ensure compliance and performance. Maintain strongclient communication
and adopt a proactive problem-solving approach. Review and interprettechnical drawings
to ensure accurate delivery of works. Apply expert knowledge across groundwork disciplines, including:+ Ground beams
+ Drainage (deep, internal & external)
+ Sub-structure concrete
+ Roads and external works
+ Oversite housing slabs
+ Cut and fill earthworks
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum2 years' experience on housing plot sites
, with emphasis on drainage and road works. Demonstratedcommercial awareness
of site operations. Strong ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team. Proven record ofprogramme delivery
against set targets.General Expectations
Reliable, punctual, and professional
in all aspects of work. Collaborative approach - able to work effectively with other trades to meet programme requirements. Right to work in the UK. * Completion of company IT induction and training within 1-3 months of employment.
