to join our team. The role focuses heavily on drainage installation, slab preparation, and concrete finishing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering groundwork, with a particular emphasis on delivering high-quality finishes and ensuring site works are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Install underground drainage systems, including laying pipes, connecting manholes, and ensuring correct falls and levels.
Prepare sub-bases for concrete slabs, including excavation, compacting, and setting up formwork.
Carry out concrete finishing tasks such as floating, trowelling, and power floating to achieve specified surface finishes.
Read and work from site drawings, levels, and specifications to ensure works are carried out accurately.
Operate small plant and machinery such as trench rollers, wacker plates, and concrete vibrators as required.
Assist in setting out works and ensuring correct alignment and positioning of slabs and drainage runs.
Ensure work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised, following health and safety standards at all times.
Collaborate with site managers, engineers, and other trades to deliver projects on schedule.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Groundworker, particularly in drainage installation, slab preparation, and concrete finishing.
Ability to interpret construction drawings and levels.
Competent in the use of hand tools and small plant.
CSCS card required (CPCS/NPORS for machine tickets an advantage).
Strong understanding of health and safety practices on construction sites.
Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
