Job purpose
Due to the recent growth of the SPG Fire & Security (Holdings) Ltd group there is a need to fill the position of Group Accounts & Credit controller. The role is responsible for overseeing and managing the finance requirements across all group entities.
Key responsibilities and Accountabilities
Overseeing the day to day running of the accounts in each company and develop a general understanding of the individual requirements of each company and their role within the group.
Management credit risk and control, supporting the accounts administrative staff within each company, ensuring key customer accounts are handled personally.
Identify areas or processes for improvement, relating specifically to credit control and risk mitigation.
Preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly management reports highlighting any areas of interest or concern.
Where required, or applicable, provide training to other staff on Sage accounting packages.
Oversee the monthly bank reconciliations and quarterly VAT returns across the group.
Willingness to undertake occasional travel to group locations across Scotland.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
The knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience relevant to the position are:
Essential
Experience of working in Accounts, specifically in a group or large company setting.
An eye for detail, ensuring timelines are met, and value for money at all times.
Excellent customer service skills including developing customer relationships.
Computer literacy including Microsoft Office
Good timekeeping.
Working understanding of Sage.
Desirable
CICM or other related Financial Qualifications would be advantageous but not necessary.
Knowledge of the Fire & Security Industry, including product developments.
Experience of working in Procurement
