What you'll be doing?




Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function - Barratt Partnerships.

While the work varies from team to team, our key requirements don't: you must be well organised, extremely helpful and resourceful, and able to use your initiative. You'll understand that what you do is important, and impacts on your team, the department, and the wider business.

Reporting to the Group Commercial Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for working with the Group Commercial team as an analyst, extracting reviewing and consolidating information that is contained within Commercial operating systems supporting a wide group of stakeholders.

As a Group Commercial Analyst, you will create a real and active partnership with both operations and management. Provide support and insightful analysis to add value and drive business decisions, deliver information in a clear manner at an appropriate level using a good mix of analytical, commercial and communication skills



You will be expected to:


Production of management information for a range of internal customers, adding insightful analysis to drive business decision making. Production of weekly reporting, understanding the current market drivers. Analyse both short and long-term data; identify business impacts and issues; highlight key trends and anomalies in order to enable change and continuous business improvements. Provide both regular and ad-hoc reporting and analysis to the business to highlight trends and drive performance. Preparation of reporting as required, including exporting data from business systems, analysing and summarising the results and reporting of other cost data such as analysis of waste cost, non-productive expenditure, etc. Drive use of existing management information within the business and the efficiency of production. Develop reporting in line with market trends and business needs. Deliver excellent service to internal customers such as members of the Executive Team, Group Financial Controller, Group Commercial Director, etc. Act as the Commercial representative or lead on medium term projects within the business. Fundamental role in the Group management information strategy.

What you'll need?




To be successful in the role, we are looking for:

Qualified to CIMA / ACCA or Construction related HND level or higher with post-qualification experience in a similar role. Have an understanding of current business operating systems. Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail, able to gather, interpret and present data for reporting. Methodical, conscientious and organised, works to deliver high standards. Have strong IT skills; a working knowledge of computer systems within the commercial environment, i.e. MS Excel to Advanced level, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Teams, COINS, BOQ, CVR, VAP, Power BI. Articulate, clear and credible, and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Diligent, able to work on own initiative with the drive to take ownership of projects. Approachable and able to work well with colleagues in Group Commercial and other disciplines. Have good communication skills. Have the ability to build effective working relationships. Team player and supportive of colleagues. Well organised, focused on meeting deadlines and able to manage shifting priorities.
