About the role



Working with the Head of Group FP&A, the Group CFO, the CEO and the members of the Operating Board, to develop and strengthen the FP&A practise, in order to ensure the provision of timely, accurate and appropriate financial and non-financial decision support information to the board, executive and senior management teams, as well as rolling-out consistent FP&A best practices across the business. Strong member of the finance organisation, developing into a strong business partner to business lines leaders and particularly the COO and CGO.

Role Objectives



Strengthen and Standardise FP&A Across the Group
Enhance the Group-level FP&A function by implementing best practices, improving forecasting accuracy, and ensuring consistent, high-quality financial reporting across all business lines.

Deliver Strategic Insights and Business Partnering
Provide timely, accurate decision support to the Board and executive leadership, acting as a key business partner, particularly to the COO and CGO, to drive performance and informed decision-making.

Lead Reporting Improvements and Team Development
Drive the upgrade of Board reporting, challenge and improve existing KPIs, and lead, coach, and develop junior analysts to build a high-performing FP&A team.

What will you do?



Responsible for the group FP&A, strengthening the practise at Group level, and rolling out the FP&A processes and best practises across all business lines Supervises, coaches and develops the junior analysts Runs performance and decision support analysis, including the monthly Board pack Key business partner to the Maintel leadership team (EMT and SMT) to support business decisions Able to challenge the status quo and able to reflect on the current KPIs and way of reporting the Group performance, to propose enhancements Drives the improvement of the predictability and accuracy of estimations Leads the implementation of a new reporting pack and the upgrade of the Board reporting Drives the timely issuance of the reporting information to all key stakeholders Monitor and report on financial risks and opportunities, proactively identifying trends or deviations from forecast Support ad hoc strategic projects, such as M&A evaluations, business case reviews, or investment appraisals Promote a culture of continuous improvement within FP&A by identifying areas for automation, efficiency gains, or capability building

Experience & Qualifications



Essential

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or strong academic background in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field Proven experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or strategic business partnering, ideally within a multi-entity or group structure Been part of and contributed to a group budget / forecast process Strong commercial acumen and ability to interpret and influence business performance Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel Worked with complex financial models and integrated financial statements Credibility and confidence to engage with senior and executive stakeholders, providing challenge and strategic insight Experience preparing or enhancing Board-level reporting, performance packs, and KPIs Ability to work in fast-paced, change-oriented environments, managing ambiguity and competing priorities

Desirable

Experience in a private equity-backed, technology, telecoms, or services business Familiarity with planning/reporting tools such as Power BI, TM1, Anaplan, or similar Team leadership or mentoring experience, ideally managing junior analysts Experience in rolling out group-wide FP&A processes or best practices Experience in systems or reporting improvements, such as automation or dashboard development
