Key Responsibilities:

Financial Modelling and Analysis



Develop Advanced Financial Models: Build and maintain dynamic, sophisticated financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning. Scenario Analysis: Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to provide actionable insights into key financial drivers and risks. Decision Support: Deliver robust financial modelling for new investments, strategic initiatives, and business cases, providing clear recommendations to senior leadership.

Strategic Financial Leadership



Support Strategic Goals: Ensure financial models align with Merlin's overall strategy and facilitate decision-making processes at the executive level. Insights and Recommendations:Translate complex financial data into clear insights and actionable recommendations for key stakeholders. Collaboration: Partner with business units and regional teams to ensure financial models reflect operational realities and strategic priorities.

Operational Excellence



Optimise Processes: Drive continuous improvement in financial modelling and planning processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. Technology Integration: Leverage advanced tools and systems to enhance financial modelling capabilities and streamline workflows. Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior team members and cross-functional colleagues on best practices in financial modelling.

Financial Reporting and Planning



Forecasting: Lead the development of robust forecasting models that provide visibility into future financial performance. Budget Alignment: Ensure all financial models support the annual budgeting process, aligning with strategic objectives and operational plans. Key Metrics: Define, track, and analyse financial and operational metrics to monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.



Qualifications & Experience


--------------------------------

Typically, 10+ years of experience in FP&A or financial modelling roles, with at least 5 years in a senior or managerial position. Demonstrated expertise in advanced financial modelling, including scenario analysis and valuation techniques. Experience working in a multinational organisation, with exposure to complex financial structures and business models. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, CFA) preferred.

Financial Modelling Expertise: Advanced proficiency in building complex, dynamic financial models. Strategic Thinking: Ability to align financial analysis with business strategy to support decision-making. Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on delivering actionable insights from complex data sets. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Technological Proficiency: Experience with financial planning software, data visualisation tools, and advanced Excel skills. Leadership & Collaboration: Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and mentor junior colleagues. Attention to Detail: Rigorous attention to accuracy and detail in financial analysis and reporting
