We're proud to have achieved Great Place To Work status for three years running - and to be recognised among the UK's Best Workplaces in Manufacturing, Production & Transportation.
But it's about so much more than badges to us, it's about being recognised by our people for the continuous work we do to do better for them.
About our opportunity
We're seeking a Group Insurance & Claims Manager to take the lead in protecting our global organisation through strategic, cost-effective risk management and insurance solutions. Reporting to senior leadership, this pivotal role ensures the Group's assets are safeguarded in line with the Board's risk appetite, through the efficient transfer or acceptance of risk. You'll have the opportunity to shape our global insurance programme, work closely with executive management, and build strong partnerships with brokers, insurers, and legal professionals across multiple regions.
What You'll Be Doing
As the Group Insurance & Claims Manager, you'll:
Design, negotiate, and manage the Group's insurance programme in collaboration with brokers and insurers.
Ensure appropriate protection of all insurable risks and highlight any uninsured exposures to the Board.
Oversee self-insured claims across property, casualty, and fleet programmes, making informed decisions on liability and strategy.
Manage relationships with key external partners including brokers, insurers, TPAs, lawyers, and accident management providers.
Drive recoveries, indemnities, and contributions wherever possible.
Provide expert insurance advice to business units, supporting acquisitions, mergers, and disposals.
Lead premium allocation and collection across the Group.
Identify emerging risk trends and recommend proactive loss prevention measures.
About You
You'll bring a blend of technical insurance expertise, leadership, and commercial acumen, including:
Proven experience managing a significant insurance programme with substantial self-insured retentions.
Strong knowledge of renewal data collection, brokering processes, and claims handling (EL/PL and motor).
Confidence in interpreting policy wordings and managing complex claims through to settlement.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise stakeholders at all levels.
A proactive, solutions-driven mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement in risk management.
Ideally, you'll also have experience in marine insurance (including charterers liability) and industrial loss prevention.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping a robust, resilient insurance framework for a global organisation committed to protecting its people, assets, and reputation.
