Atlas Nextwave are looking for a Group IT Support Technician for one of our clients based in Aberdeen. This is a permanent role.
Job description Responsible for taking ownership of onsite IT requirements - including user support, equipment setup, system administration, SharePoint management, and asset management systems (including workshop equipment systems). Working closely with an external IT provider for advanced support as required.
Technical Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all IT issues across both companies.
  • Provide on-site troubleshooting and support for hardware, software, and network issues, escalating to the external IT provider as needed.
  • Configure and deploy new laptops, PCs, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Manage user onboarding and offboarding processes, including account setup and access permissions.
  • Maintain and update the internal IT helpdesk / ticketing system, ensuring issues are logged and resolved efficiently.
Liaison & Coordination
  • Act as the key link between internal users and the external IT provider, ensuring smooth escalation and communication.
  • Support the delivery of IT training sessions and provide on-the-job guidance to staff.
  • Communicate IT updates, maintenance, and planned system changes to employees.
  • Participate in group-wide IT improvement projects and system rollouts.
  • Assist with any other duties as required.
  • Carry out work in a timely and efficient manner to meet deadlines, changing priorities when the situation requires.
Job requirements Required
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in an IT support or helpdesk environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Windows operating systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
  • Experience managing or supporting SharePoint environments.
  • Familiarity with Azure Active Directory and cloud-based services.
  • Previous experience in a multi-site or group company setup.
Relevant IT certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, IT Solutions Apprenticeship, or Computing / IT for Business.
