Job Description
The Magic Roundabout Playgroup seeks to employ an experienced, enthusiastic, qualified person in our lovely small, rural early years setting, as a
Playgroup Leader Maternity Cover.
The Playgroup Leader will be responsible for the day to day running of the playgroup.
The position is to start asap after ACCESS NI Checks, (Playgroup operates term time only.)
The role will be to provide direct support to a child who has additional learning needs.
The ideal candidate should have:
QCF Level 5 Diploma in Childcare, Learning & Development, or Playwork OR
a relevant Occupational qualification in early years education, social Work, nursing, teaching or health visiting. Candidates will be considered who haveQCF Level 3 Childcare
, Learning & Development, or Playwork andare working towards or would consider working towards the Level 5 qualification.
At least 2 years experience working with children
Knowledge and understanding of NI preschool curriculum guidelines
Knowledge of child development including age appropriate areas of learning
Experience of developing long, medium and short term planning, for an early years setting
Be able to demonstrate an understanding of developing policies and procedures.
Good understanding of Safeguarding Children and Minimum Standards for childminding and Playgroup setting
Ability to lead and work in a team
IT Skills with ability to use Microsoft Office packages
30 hours per week until June, increasing to 35 hours in September 2025.
Closing Date: 2nd May 2025.
