Role Overview:
ESG (Engineering Solutions Group) Ltd. is seeking a highly experienced and commercially astute
Group Procurement & Supply Chain Manager
to lead, mature, and optimise procurement and supply chain operations. Initially focused on ECS, our largest Group company, the role will transition into a
Group-level leadership position
with responsibility for aligning, consolidating, and strategically managing procurement across all Group businesses.

, and the ability to influence operational delivery across multiple business units and sectors. We are looking for a proven leader with multi-project, cross-industry experience and a strong background in contractual, commercial, and supplier relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee all ECS procurement and supply chain activity, including strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, subcontractor management, and materials logistics.
Work alongside operational and commercial teams to ensure procurement contributes directly to project performance, margin protection, and schedule certainty.
Maintain and develop preferred supplier and subcontractor frameworks that ensure value for money and performance accountability.
Manage procurement risk across project lifecycles, including inflation, availability, and lead-time fluctuations.
Implement procurement tools, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms to support senior management decision-making.
Create and implement a unified procurement and supply chain strategy across the Group (including BC Civils, Catalyst Engineering, ECS, and others).
Design and roll out Group procurement policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
Identify synergies and deliver cost savings through consolidated purchasing and strategic supplier agreements.
Work with business unit leaders to support commercial growth and delivery capability through robust supply chain planning.
Drive the digitalisation and automation of procurement processes where appropriate.
Develop supply chain risk management strategies for critical goods and services across the Group.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Degree-level qualification
in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or related discipline (minimum requirement).
MCIPS Chartered Member (Level 6) status
or actively working towards it - essential.
Minimum
8-10 years' experience
in a senior procurement or supply chain leadership role within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
Demonstrable experience in
strategic procurement leadership
- not just transactional buying - including contract negotiation, supplier performance management, and category management.
Proven track record of
delivering procurement strategies
at business or group level.
Strong understanding of
NEC, JCT, and other contract forms
relevant to construction and engineering supply chains.
