Role Description




Princes Liverpool is looking for a Group Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to join the business. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a global business and make your mark.



Job Purpose



The GEHSM is responsible for the development and communication of the Princes Group EHS strategy and for monitoring company compliance with EHS legal requirements and internal GEHS policy and procedures to ensure EHS is managed effectively across the sites within their area of responsibility.

Ensure effective communication on all EHS matters that need attention of the Directors on the Princes Operational Board who have overall responsibility for EHS.



Dimensions


Set the direction and strategy from the group in terms of EHS and validate progression with the site leaders and teams. Own the operational EHS - key performance indicators for the sites factory management system. Dotted line responsibility for all manufacturing site EHS Managers. Manage and keep up to date the Princes Group EHS Management Portal and SHE Assure system. Provide necessary support as required to meet requests for performance data from sites and senior leaders, customers and other functions and from the wider NewPrinces ESG colleagues. Liaise with external statutory bodies such as the Environmental Agency and the HSE as well as external customers around Corporate Responsibility. Liaise with the Princes Group Operational Board, Manufacturing Directors, Legal, Corporate Relations and other key functions and colleagues as required. Compile and manage a UK Training budget. (circa 70k per annum). Manage the various company carbon schemes and submit necessary data for all participating schemes. Complete required Office National Statistics (ONS) surveys as required. Responsible for all Princes Group EHS operations.

Principal Responsibilities



1. Manage the ongoing Environmental agenda for Climate Change Agreements, SBTi Carbon Reduction, 2030 Green Goal strategy as well as any other schemes / strategy that may become applicable.

2. Liaise with all manufacturing sites and share best practice across the Group.

3. Carry out due diligence with regards to EHS, to gain an understanding of where businesses are against the H&S maturity Matrix / culture.

4. Deploy, drive and sustain within our sites, effective processes, systems and initiatives supported by relevant measures that matter and drive behavioral based EHS activities.

5. To develop, evaluate and improve, EHS policy and strategic plans to manage and control safety, occupational health and environmental effects for all parts of the business.

6. Consult with our external insurance brokers in order manage Claims and Insurance Policies.

7. The identification, and development of management EHS policy, procedures and systems to ensure hazards controls are maintained and there is a continual improvement of our EHS performance and sharing best practice.

8. Manage the Group EHS level 1 compliance audit schedule across all Princes sites to ensure procedures are effective and are being adhered to. Develop and maintain an ISO 45001 & 14001 audit action tracker and review progress with relevant sites to ensure all NCRs are completed.

9. Have the authority and duty to immediately halt any unsafe practice without the need to seek further authority.

10. Plan and manage a UK EHS training budget for all sites to ensure competency and statutory compliance.

11. To establish and maintain a pro-active EHS culture which supports the implementation of policy.

12. Provide EHS advice and assistance to senior leaders, plant managers and other colleagues as required.

13. Arrange regular meetings with members of the operational board to keep them updated with any relevant EHS performance and information.

14. On the ground, site support, supporting problem management and continuous EHS improvement initiatives.



Role Requirements



Skills & Experience


Significant track record in environmental, health & safety strategic planning. Qualified to at least Degree or NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent. Experience of leading EHS improvement plans, projects and can demonstrate success over multiple sites and years. Experience of directing & managing environment, health & safety activities / teams. Experienced in managing budgets and cost reduction initiatives.
