We are seeking a highly organised and proactive House Manager to oversee the daily operations of a group of City Centre Guesthouses. The ideal candidate will possess excellent management and communication skills, with a strong background in hospitality and customer service. This role involves coordinating housekeeping staff, managing schedules, and ensuring the smooth running of all domestic activities. The House Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for all staff, vendors, and visitors, maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment. This is a paid position that offers an opportunity to utilise leadership skills within a dynamic setting.
Strong IT abilities are essential for this role.
Duties
Oversee daily household operations, ensuring all activities are executed efficiently and to high standards
Manage and supervise household staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and vendor services to ensure the property remains in excellent condition
Organise household events, appointments, and travel arrangements as required
Maintain accurate records of household inventories, supplies, and budgets
Liaise with external service providers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the household environment
Handle correspondence and communication using Microsoft Outlook and other IT tools
Assist with administrative tasks using Microsoft Word and other computer literacy skills
Skills
Proven management experience within a hospitality or accommodation based setting
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Exceptional customer service abilities with a friendly yet professional demeanour
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and general IT applications
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a team
Sound organisational skills to coordinate multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and handle sensitive situations discreetly
Experience in hospitality or similar environments is desirable but not essential
