About Us...

28 York Place is an independent hotel, bar and events venue located in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town - just minutes from Princes Street and within easy reach of the Capital's main attractions. With eight guest rooms, Bar28, and flexible event and meeting spaces, we take pride in offering a warm, personal experience to our guests and members.

We're now looking for a friendly and adaptable Guest Services Assistant to support both our front-of-house and bar operations. This is a varied role ideal for someone who enjoys delivering great service and being part of a small, supportive team.

About the Role...

As a Guest Services Assistant, you'll work evening shifts covering both reception and bar duties. Your responsibilities will include:

Welcoming guests and checking them in and out Handling guest queries and providing a helpful, friendly service Preparing and serving drinks in Bar28 to house standards Setting up and servicing events, including meetings, private functions and member events Ensuring public areas and service spaces are kept clean, tidy and presentable Completing bar close-down procedures and stock rotation Supporting responsible service in line with licensing legislation
You'll often be the only team member on site during your shift, so confidence and the ability to work independently are essential.

A warm and professional approach to guest service Someone with initiative and a good eye for detail A team player with a flexible, can-do attitude Confidence handling bar and reception responsibilities Experience in hospitality or customer service is desirable Availability for evening and weekend shifts as required
