The role of Guest Services Assistant is critical to the smooth running and day to day operation of the charity. The majority of your role will involve housekeeping but there will also be an element of front of house receptionist work on occasion and you will be fully trained in how to take and manage guest bookings.
In this role you will also be required to participate in the on-call rota (usually one evening a week possibly two at weekends or when covering leave), providing out of hours emergency support for in-house guests and anyone requiring a room at short notice. There is an additional payment for these on-calls.
Housekeeping activities include:
Cleaning of bedrooms - stripping and making beds, hoovering, washing floors, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens etc.
Washing and drying laundry - towels and guest service washes as required
Cleaning of communal and staff bathrooms
Cleaning of lounge, kitchen and dining areas to include washing of floors, cleaning of microwaves, fridges and freezers as necessary, dusting, hoovering, cleaning of worktops, tables and chairs
Removal and disposal of rubbish from bedrooms, offices and communal areas
Replenishment and rotation of stock and supplies
Taking receipt of deliveries and ensuring they are safely stored
Dealing with guest queries and enquiries
Other general cleaning activities as requested
Additional reasonable requests as and when required
Working flexibly by arrangement and agreement to meet the needs of the organisation
Front of house receptionist activities include:
Acting as the first point of contact for inbound callers and visitors to Hearts Together
Making and receiving telephone calls
Providing information and answering queries
Responding to email enquiries
Handling guest reservations
Additional reasonable requests as and when required
Working flexibly by arrangement and agreement to meet the needs of the organisation

A good standard of written English, IT skills and financial literacy

Experience of cleaning and housekeeping

A full clean driving license - required for on-calls
