We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Gymnastics Coach to join our after school activities team in Guildford. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports coaching and teaching, with the ability to inspire and develop gymnasts of all ages and skill levels. This role will be working Friday 3pm - 4pm during school holidays.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement training programmes tailored to individual gymnast needs and abilities.
Teach gymnastics skills, techniques, and routines in a safe and effective manner.
Provide constructive feedback to athletes to enhance their performance and confidence.
Monitor the progress of gymnasts, setting goals and tracking improvements over time.
Ensure all safety protocols are adhered to during training sessions.
Organise and lead warm-up and cool-down exercises to prevent injuries.
Foster a supportive team atmosphere that encourages camaraderie among athletes.
Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and other coaching staff regarding performance, expectations, and any concerns.
Qualifications
Previous experience in sports coaching or teaching, particularly in gymnastics or related disciplines.
Strong understanding of gymnastics techniques, rules, and safety standards.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage young athletes.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required for training sessions or competitions.
First Aid certification is desirable but not mandatory; training may be provided.
