Job Summary

Active School UK is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Gymnastics Coaches to join our after-school program team. We work across local primary schools delivering fun, engaging, and structured gymnastics sessions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, a strong background in sports or coaching, and the ability to create a positive, supportive environment where every child can thrive.

Duties

Plan and deliver high-quality after-school gymnastics sessions, tailored to a variety of ages and abilities (Key Stage 1 & 2). Teach and develop fundamental gymnastics skills, including balance, coordination, strength, and tumbling. Encourage participation and confidence in every child, providing constructive feedback and celebrating progress. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants, following safeguarding and health & safety procedures. Keep accurate registers of attendance and support children working towards their UKAG Awards. Work collaboratively with assistants, schools, and the wider ASO team to create a fun, inclusive environment. Represent Active School UK positively within schools and the community.

Requirements

Experience working with children in a coaching, teaching, or sports setting (gymnastics experience preferred, but training can be provided). Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage children, parents, and schools. A genuine passion for sport, child development, and inspiring young people. Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to adapt sessions to suit different needs and environments. First Aid and Safeguarding training desirable (or willingness to complete provided training). Ability to travel to schools in the Salisbury/Wiltshire area (with opportunities to expand into Hampshire, Dorset, and Somerset).
