Overview

As a Hair and Beauty Technician, you'll play a vital support role within our teaching team, ensuring that the salon and classroom environments are fully equipped, prepared, and maintained to a professional standard. You'll assist tutors and learners during practical sessions, help with the set-up and organisation of equipment and materials, and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the department.

Duties

Preparing and maintaining salon spaces, equipment, and stock for practical sessions

Assisting tutors with demonstrations and technical support during classes

Managing and ordering stock and supplies in line with budget requirements

Ensuring health and safety standards and COSHH regulations are upheld

Supporting learners with the safe and effective use of tools, equipment, and products

Cleaning and sterilising tools and equipment in line with industry hygiene standards

Maintaining accurate inventories and records of products and equipment

Setting up for assessments and supporting the smooth delivery of practical exams

Providing administrative support for practical sessions and stock control

Liaising with suppliers and managing deliveries of salon products and materials

Supporting in the organisation and set up of learner salon days, client bookings, and events

Helping to maintain a professional and welcoming environment for learners and clients

Assisting with displays and resources that enhance the learning environment

Issuing and managing student uniforms, kits, and materials

Overseeing laundry duties, including the collection, washing, drying, and storage of towels and gowns

Assisting with front-of-house reception duties, including client bookings and enquiries

Liaising with the college's facilities team to report and follow up on maintenance or salon repairs
