We are seeking a dedicated Handler to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing materials, operating equipment, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our facility. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge to contribute to efficient operations in a dynamic environment. The Handler will be instrumental in supporting shipping, receiving, stocking, and inventory management activities.
Responsibilities
Operate forklift and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move materials.
Manage stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 software to ensure accurate inventory control.
Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the warehouse.
Assist with picking and packing orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Support shipping and receiving processes by loading and unloading goods from lorries or containers.
Conduct routine maintenance checks on mechanical equipment to ensure operational safety.
Assist with construction or refurbishment tasks as required, utilising mechanical knowledge when necessary.
Perform heavy lifting tasks safely, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Maintain a clean, organised workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
Requirements
Proven experience in warehouse management or similar environment.
Valid forklift licence or certification is highly desirable.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 is advantageous.
Strong understanding of materials handling, stock control, and logistics procedures.
Mechanical knowledge or experience in construction can be beneficial.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order fulfilment.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Prior experience with picking & packing, shipping & receiving tasks preferred.
