Harriet Street Project is a supported accommodation
service supporting individuals aged 16+ in South Lanarkshire who are at risk of, experiencing, or have experienced homelessness. The service offers flexible, trauma-informed support tailored to each person's needs, helping them achieve settled and sustainable housing. The Service is based in Rutherglen, it is designed to be accessible, responsive, and consists of 15 modular single units, a Hub space to engage in activities and a pathway to engage alongside the local community.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated individual to take on this Handy Person Role.
Key Responsibilities:
The role of a Handy Person is essential to the smooth running of our accommodation -based services ensuring good quality accommodation is provided and repairs/ maintenance are completed in a timely manner.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Practical experience of working successfully in a similar maintenance/building/decorating job role
Knowledge of Health and safety within residential buildings
Ability to follow instructions and manage your own workload to perform tasks to the required quality standards and timescales
The ability to give and receive information effectively and efficiently to colleagues
Basic computer skills to perform work tasks such as sending/receiving emails and reporting
The ability and willingness to work within, be empathic with and promote the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army Mission
