Job description
We are looking for a full time handyperson to work in one of our childrens homes in Sheffield undertaking repairs, decoration and maintaining the fabric of the interior and exterior of the home as well as ground maintenance. You must have knowledge and experience of dealing with COSHH regulations and Health and Safety legislation with the ability to ensure that the home meets the necessary safety inspection requirements, reporting any issues that present as a risk. You will be required to use IT software and therefore you must be IT confident and competent.
As you will be working in a children's home you will be able to build relationships with young people during the course of your work and therefore an enhanced barred Childrens and adults DBS check will be carried out with the successful candidate and previous employment safeguarding checks will be undertaken. This is a full time 37 hours per week role and you may be required to work bank holidays and out of hours should there be a need for this. Any out of hours work will be paid at enhanced rates of pay.
