We are currently recruiting for a Delivery Technician - Porter, to join our busy and evolving transport team in our 2-person Home Delivery Network, working for a leading logistics company.
As a Delivery Technician - Porter you will be responsible for transporting furniture products from warehouses or distribution centres to customers' residences.
The Home Delivery Porter plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering furniture items safely and providing exceptional service. With their attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to handle heavy items, they contribute to the overall success of furniture retailers and uphold quality standards in the delivery process.

Salary: 31,390.44
Shift Pattern: 4 out of 7
Location: Harlow
Essential skills required:
Clear and effective communication skills for conveying delivery information, addressing customer inquiries, and providing updates on delivery status.
Maintaining a professional demeanour throughout interactions with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders
Presenting oneself neatly and adhering to company dress code policies.
Understanding the importance of delivering exceptional service and striving to exceed customer expectations.
Effective time management skills to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to delivery schedules and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Report any accidents, incidents, or near misses to the transport office and/or company management promptly.
Always prioritize safety, following proper lifting techniques, wearing personal protective equipment (if required), and minimizing risks of injury during the delivery process.
Collaborate effectively with the driver to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and customer expectations are met.
Ensure the security of the vehicle and its contents, including when parked, by using locks, alarms, or other security measures as required.
Use equipment such as tail lifts, skates, and sack barrows as necessary to facilitate the loading, unloading and transportation of goods process.
Communicate effectively with transport managers, customer service, and other team members to provide updates on delivery progress, delays, or issues encountered during transit.
Pay close attention to detail when handling deliveries, verifying delivery addresses, and ensuring accuracy in documentation.
Have a basic understanding of the products being delivered, including features, specifications, and assembly instructions.
Assemble and install furniture items at customers' homes according to manufacturer instructions, if assembly service is provided (client dependant).
Maintain accurate delivery records, obtain customer signatures for proof of delivery, and document any delivery exceptions or issues encountered.
Resolve delivery-related problems, such as navigating tight spaces, moving heavy furniture through doorways, or addressing customer concerns about damaged items.
