Job Description

LKL Farming grow 1600 acres of crops near Howden, East Yorkshire and are looking to recruit a machinery operator / tractor driver for Harvest.

We grow wheat, oats, oilseed rape, vining peas and sugar beet. Our machinery fleet includes New Holland CR9.80 combine, Challenger 765E crawler, Fendt 939, Claas Arion 630 and Sands sprayer all with auto-steer to fit in with Controlled Traffic Farming. Valtra hire tractor booked for harvest. We are based out of a well equipped modern yard, with large flat floor grain stores filled by a continuous flow drier.

The role will include:

Leading grain
Leading straw
Muck spreading
Telehandler operation - grain, straw, muck
Helping in the grainstore
Mowing
Hedgecutting
Subsoiling
Power harrowing
Rolling
Leading seed out to drill
General farm work

For a suitably qualified candidate the role could also include:

Slug pelleting
Spraying

The candidate:

Some experience and a "can do" attitude is essential
An ability to understand and work within our CTF system is essential
Telehandler, sprayer and slug pellet certificates are desirable but not essential

Help required mid-July through mid / end September for combinable crop harvest and drilling period.

Plenty of hours available.

Pay depending on experience.
