Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and highly organized Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily logistics and transport activities within our haulage division. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning and allocating transport jobs, ensuring collections and deliveries run smoothly, and maintaining clear communication with both drivers and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and schedule daily haulage jobs in line with customer requirements and available resources. Allocate loads and routes efficiently to ensure cost-effective and timely transport operations. Track and monitor driver movements, ensuring accurate ETAs for collections and deliveries. Maintain regular contact with drivers, providing clear instructions and support throughout their shifts. Liaise with customers to confirm booking details, update on progress, and resolve any delivery issues. Respond promptly to any changes, delays, or disruptions in the schedule and adjust plans as necessary. Ensure all documentation (e.g. delivery notes, PODs) is processed and recorded accurately. Work closely with the wider operations team to meet service level agreements and performance targets. Maintain compliance with health and safety and transport regulations. Support drivers with any operational queries or concerns and escalate issues when required.

Key Skills and Experience:

Previous experience in haulage, logistics, or transport operations (essential) Strong planning, coordination, and organisational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Competent in using transport management systems (TMS) and tracking tools Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail Knowledge of UK road transport regulations and working time directive

Typically Monday to Friday, [Hours to be discussed], with flexibility required during peak periods or operational demands.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 450.00 per week
