Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Operations Supervisor to ensure that all site operations and processes are conducted effectively, efficiently, safely and profitably. To ensure equipment and machinery associated with the site is installed, commissioned and maintained in compliance with various regulations.

This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.

Specific job tasks and activities



Organise site layout to provide optimised process flow and efficient operations. Supervising staff to maximise productivity. Optimising staff numbers, equipment and support requirements, to ensure that materials inputs are dealt with quickly; processes are efficiently conducted to balance throughput with component and materials segregation/value; storage of different materials and components is clear, well-organised and in the right place; stock levels are known, and despatch is organised in a timely and efficient manner. Recruitment and training of operational staff-build a consistent team of well-trained staff. Supervise and maintain health and safety of the site - ensure operations are conducted according to risk assessment and procedures; permits to work are in place for all abnormal works and subcontractor works, safe conditions are present to conduct works, and are monitored, identify and provide staff and General Manager with feedback on any potential improvements. Organise and manage engineers, maintenance and service contractors, as necessary to ensure repairs and servicing to all equipment is effective to maintain processing. Project manage safe installation and commissioning of new equipment. Document internal procedures and risk assessments which reflect the operations manuals and site needs for each item of equipment, and ensure operators adhere to those process requirements. Implement and manage daily and preventive maintenance for all process and mobile equipment. Ensure that breakdowns are rectified promptly and effectively, resulting in minimum unplanned downtime. Supervise and mentor Team Leaders to ensure their knowledge of process, equipment and materials is continually improving. Ensure by this process safe handling and good quality control of WEEE and constituent materials. Ensure Team Leaders manage and deal with staff in an appropriate manner. Thoroughly and regularly review all processes and optimise process procedures. Ensure the standards of health and safety, COSHH, productivity, administration, housekeeping and hygiene are maintained to the company's standards. Ensure safe conditions of work are maintained and regularly checked and recorded. Contribute ideas and solutions that will improve the levels of operation within the workshop and all processes. Maintain records of process throughput and efficiency, and stock levels. Report weekly to General Manager. Ensure compliance with Environmental Permits, AATFs and Planning Consents. Other duties necessary to help the business as required by the site management and Directors.

Qualifications



Mandatory

Experience in management of people Able to travel on occasion to other Wiser sites for training or meetings Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and safe systems of work

Desired

H&S qualification to at least IOSH level although this can be given An understanding of the recycling industry Change management experience/qualification
