Job Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly personable, driven and organised Head Baker to join our team and journey, who will be integral in managing our Birmingham site. The successful candidate will manage the event on a day to day basis, assist with recipe development, staff management and customer hosting. Key responsibilities of the role include the smooth running of The Big Bakes events, as well as working collaboratively with the Site Manager and other Head Bakers.
The role provides significant diversity, with experience in management, organisation and customer experience - if you love interacting with people, hosting a tent full of budding bakers, imparting your knowledge and skills on novices and creating fantastic baked goods at our truly unique Birmingham location while taking a lead on the overall management of the event then keep reading.
Responsibilities
Team:
Lead and inspire a team of bakers and event hosts.
Collaborate closely with the Site Manager and fellow Event Hosts.
Operations:
Oversee the daily management of events to ensure everything runs seamlessly.
Handle all aspects of event preparation and execution.
Guest Experience:
Host and engage with our customers, creating a memorable experience.
Share your baking expertise and foster a welcoming atmosphere.
Working conditions:
If selected, you will be joining our fantastic team at our Birmingham site where the role involves exciting shift work from Friday to Sunday. We are looking for someone who loves engaging with large groups of customers and thrives in a lively environment. There may be occasional travel to other venue locations across the UK, with advance notice provided.
Physical Requirements:
The nature of the role is hospitality-based, involving exciting tasks like carrying ingredients and utensils to customers, and warmly welcoming and greeting guests throughout the venue. Our opening hours are between 7 am and 11 pm, with shifts occurring within, and occasionally outside, these times.
