We're looking for a talented, confident, and passionate
Head Baker
to lead our bakery from day one. If you love sourdough, understand dough hydration the way some people understand coffee orders, and enjoy mentoring others while creating a warm, supportive kitchen culture - we'd love to meet you.
This is a chance to help shape a brand-new bakery concept from the ground up. You'll lead production, guide the team, and bring expertise that ensures our breads and pastries are consistently exceptional, without the burnout culture found in some traditional bakeries. We want this to be a place where great craft meets balanced, enjoyable work.
What You'll Be Doing
Oversee and produce high-quality sourdough bread, baguettes, focaccia, and bagels (we'd love to hear from you even if you don't have experience in all of these baked goods!)
Maintain recipe consistency, fermentation standards, shaping techniques, and bake quality.
Train junior bakers and kitchen assistants, helping them grow their craft.
Confidently operating commercial bakery equipment (mixers, deck ovens, proofers, etc.).
Who We're Looking For
Extensive experience
baking sourdough, baguettes, focaccia, and ideally bagels in a commercial environment.
Strong understanding of commercial bakery equipment and production flow.
Someone who enjoys leading and mentoring a team - not just directing, but supporting.
Organised, calm under pressure, and passionate about quality.
Available full time, with early starts as standard for bakery life (but reasonable, sustainable scheduling).
