POSITION SUMMARY
The Head Bartender plays a key leadership role within the beverage team and is responsible for exemplifying the highest standards of hospitality. This position ensures an exceptional guest experience through the preparation and service of beverages, operational excellence behind the bar, team guidance, and strong knowledge of product and presentation. The Head Bartender also manages stock levels, ensures cleanliness, and always enforces Milos's service standards

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Experience & Service
Deliver gracious, attentive, and personalized service to every guest
Lead by example in embodying Milos's philosophy of uncompromising hospitality
Prepare and serve beverages efficiently, ensuring consistency and quality
Take beverage orders from servers and guests; recommend pairings as needed
Ensure timely delivery of drinks to tables or bar guests
Maintain a warm, welcoming, and professional demeanor at all times
Handle guest complaints or concerns with discretion and resolution-focused communication
Operational Duties
Attend all mandatory pre-shift meetings
Arrive on time and fully prepared for each shift
Mix cocktails to specification, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation
Serve wine, beer, classic cocktails, and house specials
Maintain bar cleanliness during and after service
Clean glasses, bar equipment, and bar surfaces regularly
Serve light snacks and food to guests seated at the bar
Inventory & Stock Management
Conduct accurate and regular stocktakes of all bar products and supplies
Monitor par levels and ensure timely ordering of stock to avoid shortages
Track and minimize waste, breakage, and discrepancies
Receive and verify bar deliveries, ensuring correct quantities and storage
Maintain an organized and clean back bar and stockroom
Financial Responsibilities
Collect and process payments for drinks served
Prevent revenue loss through proper portioning and upholding pour policies
Monitor overconsumption and manage liability responsibly, arranging safe transport when needed
Leadership & Compliance
Enforce legal requirements including age verification and responsible alcohol service
Lead bar staff by example in professionalism, grooming, and teamwork
Uphold hygiene, health & safety, and sanitation protocols at all times
Ensure the bar meets all licensing and compliance regulations
Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned by management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Fluent in English; additional languages a plus
High school diploma required; hospitality or bar certification preferred
Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a high-end restaurant or hotel bar; leadership experience is an asset
In-depth knowledge of spirits, wine, classic and modern cocktails
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Able to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg
Must have the legal right to live and work in the UK. Proof of eligibility is required
