The Opportunity:



We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Bartender to join our dynamic food and beverage team. This is a pivotal role for an individual who is passionate about mixology, dedicated to delivering outstanding customer service, and possesses strong leadership skills. You will be instrumental in maintaining our high standards of bar operation and nurturing the growth of our enthusiastic team of 6 bartenders.

Key Responsibilities:



Bar Output & Quality Control:

Take ownership of the quality and consistency of all bar output, ensuring every drink served meets Stanwell House's high standards of presentation, taste, and accuracy.

Team Leadership:

Provide effective leadership of the bar department in the absence of the Bar Manager, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to all policies and procedures.

Team Dynamics & Mentorship:

Actively moderate team dynamics, fostering a positive, supportive, and collaborative working environment within the guidelines and examples set by the Bar Manager.

Staff Development:

Provide comprehensive support, guidance, and training to junior members of staff, helping them develop their skills, knowledge, and confidence in all aspects of bartending and customer service.

Financial Oversight:

Oversee accurate cash handling procedures and ensure meticulous recording of all takings at the end of shifts, adhering to company financial protocols.

Stock Management & Reporting:

Ensure the proper use of all bar stock, diligently record sales, and accurately track and report any wastage, contributing to effective inventory control.

Inter-departmental Cooperation:

Cooperate effectively with other departments (e.g., Kitchen, Front Office, Restaurant) to ensure seamless and efficient operation of the entire venue, enhancing the overall guest experience.

Customer Engagement:

Professionally and courteously engage with customer queries, feedback, and complaints, resolving issues efficiently and escalating when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.

Cocktail Expertise:

Demonstrate extensive knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wines, and beers, and be adept at creating bespoke drinks to meet guest preferences.

Bar Operations:

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe bar environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Skills & Experience Required:



Proven experience as a Bartender, with significant time in a supervisory or leadership role within a reputable establishment.

Essential and extensive cocktail knowledge, including preparation techniques and recipe development.

Strong understanding of various spirits, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages. Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality. Demonstrable leadership abilities, with experience in guiding and motivating a team. Proficiency in cash handling and basic financial reconciliation. Familiarity with stock control and inventory management best practices. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business.
