Head Cafe Chef (full Time)

Job Description

At Laneway & Co we are looking for a lead chef to run our small kitchen and help our team deliver some of the best brunch and lunch available in Newcastle city centre.

With a planned expansion into 2 evenings a week this role will require a mixture of day time and evening shifts, and weekend availability is essential as these are our busiest days.

As lead chef you will be responsible for overall quality control, training, ordering, food safety compliance and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen. You will work directly with management and must be able to work effectively with front of house teams to help them deliver a great customer experience.

The successful applicant will have

Experience leading a kitchen or team within a kitchen Experience with costing menu items, menu development, ordering and delegating tasks to other kitchen team members. Experience working in a busy kitchen and maintaining cleanliness and effective workflow. Enthusiasm for our business and what we are creating with a great work ethic.
