We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced
Head Chef
to lead our kitchen team. This is a hands-on role for a chef who thrives on creativity, consistency, and autonomy. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management, while championing the use of locally-sourced ingredients and maintaining a strong understanding of kitchen profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
Develop and execute seasonal menus showcasing the best of local produce
Take full ownership of meal planning, food preparation, and service
Manage kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance monitoring
Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen in line with all health & safety regulations
Monitor and manage food stock, ordering, and waste to maximise profitability
Be fully aware of and responsible for the kitchen's
Profit & Loss (P&L)
performance
Work independently and proactively, taking initiative to drive standards and efficiency
Build and maintain relationships with local suppliers to ensure the freshest and highest-quality ingredients
Contribute to the overall guest experience by collaborating closely with the front-of-house team.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a similar quality environment
Strong culinary skills and creativity, with a genuine passion for seasonal and local ingredients
Sound understanding of kitchen financials, including food costing and gross profit margins
Ability to lead, inspire, and develop a team
A hands-on, self-motivated approach and excellent organisational skills
Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations
A calm and professional demeanour under pressure
