Plan and prepare high-quality lunches and snacks using fresh, locally sourced ingredients Lead all aspects of kitchen operation, ensuring an efficient and organized service Collaborate with the school team to design seasonal menus that cater to a wide range of dietary needs and preferences Uphold the highest standards of food hygiene, allergen control, and health & safety across the kitchen operation Coach, develop, and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a positive and inclusive working environment Monitor food orders, manage stock, and ensure effective cost control while maintaining quality

Key Requirements - Head Chef | School Kitchen | Horncastle

Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef (ideally in school, education, or contract catering) Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) or willingness to obtain Strong food safety, allergen, and kitchen compliance knowledge (Level 2 Food Safety minimum) Keen interest in nutritious, child-appropriate, and well-balanced menu development Approachable, organized, and calm under pressure Excellent communication and leadership skills with a team-focused mindset Reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision

19.61 per hour (paid weekly plus holiday pay)
